Lyons Veterans Fund

Goal: $10,000.00

Specific Need

In order to keep the Veteran banners displayed, replacement rods, new brackets, and clips will need to be purchased to make it easier for our volunteers, to hang the banners. With the purchase of the replacement brackets, additional banners can be added in the future. With your donations and matching funds, this will help us to achieve this goal.

Mission

The mission of the Lyons Veteran Fund is to have the ability to hang Veteran banners on all of the light poles in Lyons.  This would be such an honor to the Veterans, as they have sacrificed so much for us.

Profile

The concept for the Veteran’s Banner Project in Rice County initially came from a similar program from Emporia Main Street and military communities across the nation. We wanted a local opportunity to honor all Veteran and active military personnel. The design for the banners comes from IM design group and a Sterling College graduate, Courtney Huber. This allows for each banner to be personalized with an individual’s photograph, military branch of service, and rank.
